BILCHED
"From the get-go Bilched has an invigorating pep and pace, shot with the sort of bling that comes from a resourceful cinematographer – in this instance Shane Kavanagh – determined not to let fiscal frugality impinge on their ability to create splashy visuals."
- Luke Buckmaster theguardian.com
"Shane Kavanagh’s cinematography gives the low-budget film a boost with some breathtaking aerial shots, and stunning evening light – making us feel the essence of Bondi beach life."

A wild ride through the last days of high school with our anti-hero Hal alongside his slacker/jock mates. Amongst the hilarious universal teenage stupidity and chaos of the ultimate end of school house party it becomes glaringly obvious Hal needs to stop cruising through life to face his fears and follow his heart.
Background
BILCHED
was shot in the eastern suburbs of Sydney 2018-2109 from a script written by the lead actor 19 year old Hal Cumpston. After principal photography and a further 4 week post-production period the film started screening in regional areas in Australia culminating in its sold out screening at the Randwick Ritz in Sydney. A successful limited release fueled by positive word of mouth has lead to the film securing a distributor and a theatrical release in Australia. The film was key to Hal Cumpston landing a leading role in the new Walking Dead TV series.
